Symbiosis of all things aims to explore the new expression possibility of the combination of art and technology, and express the symbiotic concept of natural growth and environmental protection of science and technology. It is advocated that with the high development of economy, culture, science and technology, we should pay more attention to the ecological environment protection, the relationship between people, between people and animals and plants, and between people and science and technology, so as to realize the symbiosis of science and technology with nature and protect the ecological balance. This is a problem that everyone and every enterprise have the obligation to face and think about.
On February 8, the art installation “symbiosis of all things” was launched in Beijing Qiaofu Fangcao shopping center
Art installation: symbiosis of all things
The inspiration of artistic creation in symbiosis of all things
Symbiosis of all things is an art installation jointly launched by Canon (China) and Professor Kang Lei of the oil painting department of the Central Academy of fine arts. It is a re creation based on the artist’s largest plane work garden with forked paths. Time and distance are the themes of artists’ creative thinking; the multi-dimensional space-time and surreal dream color show the magical nature and tenacious vitality. Canon group (hereinafter referred to as “canon”) corporate philosophy is “symbiosis”, in the pursuit of high-performance products, but also always put environmental protection in the first place. It is the consensus on the concept of “symbiosis” between the two sides that has contributed to this opportunity of cross-border cooperation in art.

Symbiosis of all things decomposes the original image of garden with forked paths into three layers: near, middle and far, which are sprayed on the three-layer acrylic screen. 2021 camera parts are attached to the surface of the work. Acrylic’s transparent property brings a crystal clear picture effect, and the screen shape makes it a thousand turns, looming, so that plants, ecology and technology have a new way to combine. On the surface of inkjet printing and hand-painted pigments, artists integrate camera parts of different sizes and shapes into the picture by collage technique. Images, colors and different textures of camera parts overlap and chime with each other, bringing a rich and transparent sense of visual experience, which makes the audience who stops as the main body of watching immerse themselves in the graceful experience of discovering and searching for beauty. The whole installation is 240cm high, 535cm long and 100cm wide, and took 150 days to complete.
The details of symbiosis are the internal parts of the camera
In the process of creation, Kang Lei said: “my first camera is Canon camera. In the past, I used to use the camera to shoot and record the external world. This is the first time that I have a chance to understand the internal structure of the camera in a close range. I have a new understanding angle and found that the whole Canon camera itself is a work of art, with all kinds of metal mechanical parts and reflective mirrors inside The film is particularly exquisite, with different texture, color and shape, which brings a lot of creative inspiration. “
Kang Lei also said: I like the discovery and uncertainty in this kind of creation, and explore the new expression possibility of the combination of art and technology. By combining these Canon camera parts with the growth forms of various plants in the works, the whole art installation is provided with the sense of technology and three-dimensional brought by the precision metal. With its metal essence and precise industrial design, parts extend art to daily life and artistic creation. The combination of “plant”, “ecology” and “science and technology” is a very important artistic attempt.
The creation process of the art installation of symbiosis of all things
When you look at the whole work carefully, you will find that all kinds of parts of different sizes seem to have gained a new life and re presented to the audience in an artistic manner.
Metal mechanical parts perfectly fit in egret and snake (two important “roles” in the original painting)
Orange brown parts increase the flexibility and three-dimensional sense of cactus, extending the picture out of the two-dimensional plane
The collision of turquoise blue parts and red cactus brings rich texture and color tension
The picture itself is composed of rich visual elements, with colors and lines outlining the dynamic biological and architectural landscape. On this basis, the artist uses the metal gasket and other materials inside the camera to carry out cross media processing of the image, conveying the visual message of strong ductility: pigment and hand-painted sensibility, full of temperature, symbolizing the romantic and magnificent life and nature; Sensors, flip screens and other parts with their own mathematical and rigorous industrial design, suggesting the importance of science and technology to human civilization.
