Beijing Tianjin Hebei region opens the 100th China Europe train this year

Beijing business daily (reporter Tao Feng, Wang chenting) according to China Railway Beijing Bureau Group Co., Ltd., at 16:18 on March 10, a China Europe train with 50 cars, full of auto parts, bicycles, cables, daily necessities and other goods, set out from the special logistics line of Gaoyi Yuanpeng, Handan freight center of Beijing Bureau Group Co., Ltd., heading for Moscow, the capital of Russia. This is the 100th China Europe train in the Beijing Tianjin Hebei region this year.

The one belt, one road, landmark logistics channel has been showing a trend of growth since last year. According to the report of China National Railway Corporation, in 2020, China Europe trains will operate 12400 trains and transport 1135000 standard containers, with a year-on-year growth of 50% and 56% respectively. This year, China EU trains are still rising. In January and February, a total of 2213 freight trains were sent between Chinese and European cities, an increase of 96% year-on-year; and the volume of goods delivered increased by 106% year-on-year.

Beijing Bureau Group Co., Ltd. said that it will take China Europe train as a breakthrough point to improve operation efficiency, open up a green channel for China Europe train acceptance, optimize train operation organization, increase the strength of China Europe train operation, build a domestic and international double cycle efficient channel, and add a new engine for the realization of high-quality development in Beijing Tianjin Hebei region.

He Shenghai, manager of Yuan’s business department of Handan freight transport center, said that in early 2021, in the face of the severe situation of epidemic prevention and control in Hebei Province, the competent cadres of Handan freight transport center actively contacted with enterprises, timely publicized the advantages of large railway transport volume and sufficient transport capacity, and made every effort to ensure the smooth transportation of enterprises. After meeting the needs of customers and China Railway International Multimodal Transport Company, we jointly formulated detailed epidemic prevention and control measures and train transportation organization plan to ensure the smooth operation of the first export train on January 5.

China Europe train has been in operation for ten years. It plays an important role in promoting economic and trade exchanges between China and Europe and serving the enterprises and people of countries along the line. On March 19, 2011, the first China Europe train started from Chongqing. In 2014, China Railway Corporation held the first China Europe train domestic coordination meeting in Chongqing, and promulgated the Interim Measures for the organization and management of China Europe train, which made it clear that the next step would be to lay out the whole train diagram. In 2014, there were 308 China Europe trains. In the next few years, the development of China EU trains showed a steady upward trend.

After nearly a decade of steady development, during the global epidemic in 2020, China EU train has not only become the “life channel” and “destiny link” for countries to join hands to fight against the epidemic, but also provides a strong guarantee for stabilizing the international industrial chain and supply chain.

Affected by the global epidemic, shipping and air transportation are greatly restricted. Due to the special advantages of segmented transportation, no personnel quarantine, and relatively stable time and cost, China Europe banlie has undertaken a large number of outbound freight business transferred by sea and air, and achieved a substantial increase in demand in 2020. At the same time, the backlog of goods and the situation of “one compartment hard to obtain” also gradually appeared.

“The volume of goods sent by China EU trains has reached a new record, but the problem of obvious insufficient transport capacity of overseas railway channels involved in the trains is prominent, and the congestion of transport channels has brought great pressure to the smooth handling of ports, resulting in a backlog of goods.” Xie Xiaowen, a special researcher of China logistics society, told Beijing business daily.

With the rapid growth of demand, the problems of transportation capacity limitation and imbalance between going and returning have become particularly prominent. Xie Xiaowen believes that it is foreseeable that with the expansion and reconstruction of the main port stations, the next trial operation of the new international intermodal transport channel is expected to be alleviated to a certain extent. However, in the long run, the countries along the China EU trains need to carry out railway reconstruction and expansion, increase cooperation with China, and constantly improve transportation efficiency, so as to enjoy more dividends brought by the operation of China EU trains and realize mutual benefit and win-win development.

It is reported that China Railway is expanding the capacity lines and loading and unloading facilities at border ports including Horgos port in Northwest China’s Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region and Erlianhot port in northern China’s Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region through new arrival departure lines and replacement lines.
